The Land Machinist is a conceptual, installation based project created by Erin Holt and Samantha Leopold Sullivan. The project revolves around a collection of artifacts and ephemera related to the poignant but ultimately ridiculous struggles of an individual entirely dedicated to an apparently obscure and undecipherable craft. We've rooted our work in our personal experiences of exploring the rural and often disintegrating midwestern countryside. These pieces are built from a place of both admiration and confusion, a point of view we've found often living in our friends and family as they try to decipher our own works. The Land Machinist is an evolving work of art only in its most nascent of stages, more documentation will be uploaded here as the project grows and takes on new forms.
